UK house prices since 1996

Every month several organisations report on movements in UK house prices. The three main indices are produced by the Land Registry and mortgage lenders Nationwide and Halifax, and each month they are different. Both Nationwide and Halifax base their figures on properties they have agreed mortgages on, while the Land Registry index uses completed sales.
